Today was a paperwork day. but as we were waiting for Yana as she turned paperwork in to the court, the kids walked by, they had been brought to town for Medical exams We quickly got permission for them to ride back with us. We entertained ourselves with balloon and even figured out how to get water from our bottle into the balloons. when we got back to the Orphanage we started a real water balloon fight but got expelled to the "football" field as officials came to examine the building. After 49 years the orphanage will be closed on Sept 1. Too bad there is a need for orphanages, but since they are needed here, too bad they can not close another and bring other children here. It is clean and well run. Lydia is so sharp as we play cards with the children it is so apparent! Ilia had a lot of question about home and their new life. Of course it is already not fair Lydia has her own room and he has to share with Derrick! No pic today as we left the SIM card in the computer last night, Back in Zaparosa we went to the Church for English lesson hoping to pick up Russian as they pick up English!
When we started home on the Tram after 2 stop they kicked us off.(the end of the line for the night) so we walked the rest of the way. That was ok but just before our Apt( Oh by the way now it is dark).A very drunk man started to harass Derrick and I. We where glad we we turned into our complex he did not follow us. Nice ending for the night was the Missionaries called us we will feed them tomorrow night.
Our family is so happy that things are going well with your adoption! Woohoo!
ReplyDeleteDrunkenness is such a problem. As we see, so many of the orphans seem to be the result of alcoholism. What a blessing it would be if the next generation would miraculously wake up to the dangers of alcohol and turn to God when they are in trouble or want to celebrate. We in America have our own addiction problems that include alcohol, tabacco, and drugs along with some of the more socially accepted addictions as shopping, overeating, eating disorders, caffeine, perfectionism, etc. It is true that if we turn to God for the strength to overcome these addictions (big or small), He will give us the strength. What a great blessing!
Best wishes for a great adventure!
